The Editor Says: If leisurely strolls by the sea are your bag (and they’re certainly mine, but without the “leisurely” bit) then North Devon is a really belting destination (don’t forget to see our section on Exmoor, too).  In fact, the Bucks Mills route which passes the Hoops Inn, below, is reckoned to be one of the best dog walks in the South West of England. And in an area chock full of great places to mooch with a pooch, that’s saying something. Also worth saying is that my mum fed me eggs for lunch and I’ve got to leave the computer for a few minutes…

Paws Policy: Dogs are most welcome in the Standard Coach House Double and Twin rooms (and Family Courtyard) for a small additional nightly charge. They are permitted in the Snug bar during the daytime, but not public areas. The Hoops has an adjacent paddock area where dogs can be exercised.
