Dog Friendly Hotels around Falmouth
The Editor Says: Forget for one moment that dogs aren’t allowed on the main beaches of the Falmouth area during the Summer months, because there’s loads of other brilliant places to chase balls and muck about like a numpty. Four legs are allowed on most of the little coves on the Helford River all year (except Helford Passage beach), and if you can put up with the indignity of being on a lead then attractions such as Trebah Gardens are happy to have us. Oh, and the coast path from Falmouth’s seafront round to the Helford is hound heaven. But I would say that… I live there. Lucky old me.
Meudon Hotel, Mawnan Smith
Not many hotels can boast their own beach (Bream Cove), but the Meudon is one. Situated just outside the quiet village of Mawnan and offering easy access to the coast path, the hotel features 29 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and country house ambience.
Paws Policy: Dogs are very welcome indeed (a good number of rooms are allocated to four-legged visitors and their owners) for a small supplementary charge. They are not permitted in the restaurant or bar, but are in the ‘bridge lounge’.
